I love the light of late afternoon, solving problems, making furniture and being outdoors. Challenges excite me. Music is amazing. Tennis is tough, but tons of fun. Some say I make a mean mojito. Above all curiosity and exploration top the list.
After obtaining a BA in English from Cornell University and a MA in Journalism from the University of Missouri, Azel started traveling around the world and telling visual stories for international magazines such as TIME and National Geographic.
In 1993 Azel founded Aurora Photos, a photographic company, which he sold 26 years later. By leading this company, he successfully navigated global b2b relationships, marketing and sales, software design and implementation, photographer sourcing, mentoring and management, content production, photo editing and more.
From photography to outdoor pursuits, everything Azel tackles is fueled by his passions.
